The Knoll Workplace Research Library is the research wing for Knoll Inc.
To highlight their innovative research efforts, materials and textures found in
the Knoll products are brought to the forefront. The word mark integrates patterns
from popular tapestries into the two 'L's, keeping the original DNA of the firm.
To Knoll, Materials Matter.
I led the re-design and creative direction for an architecture firm's legacy book and website. I worked directly with the CEO of the company to bring his creative vision to life, using his favorite projects to highlight in the book and landing page of the website to maintain a cohesive look across both.
A collective publication designed with Gina King, in collaboration with Professor Jack Madden at the Rhode Island School of Design. We interviewed Jack about his work in astro-physics and design methodologies. We designed the spreads to expressing a feeling of gravity and verticality through typography and image.
'An Ode to Typography' by Pablo Naruda. The chapters of the book are divided into three parts of an ode, the Strophe, Antistrophe, and the Epode. The viewer opens the pages of the book from the center, like the unveiling of a curtain, highlighting the theatrical nature of poetry. The book is bound in the center, and both right and left spines, allowing it to fold in on itself twice. Each page can be flipped through seperately, making new compositions on each spread.
A conceptual, self-initiated campaign that advocates for de-stigmatizing single-motherhood in Asia. 5 icons symbolize values embodied by single parents: Singularity, Safety, Devotion, Confidence, Trust -drawn in the style of Japanese 'mons', a traditional symbol used to identify complete family units. All variations of the symbols are drawn from the same base grid. Purple is known for the combination of red's power and blue's stability. The digital activation is a 'Moments of Motherhood' archive, that archives user's experiences of single-parenthood.
